RICHI Machinery has successfully commissioned South America’s first industrial-scale paper cat litter pellet plant in São Paulo, Brazil. This innovative 8 T/H facility transforms recycled office paper and cardboard waste into ultra-absorbent, flushable cat litter pellets, addressing the region’s growing demand for sustainable pet products.

The production line features RICHI’s specialized low-temperature pulping system that preserves paper fiber integrity, coupled with dual-stage extrusion technology creating a unique porous pellet structure. The plant implements proprietary antimicrobial treatment during conditioning, eliminating the need for chemical additives while ensuring 99.7% bacterial reduction.

With an annual capacity of 12,000 metric tons, the facility sources raw materials from municipal recycling programs across Brazil’s major cities. The pellets’ rapid-dissolving characteristics have already captured 30% of Brazil’s premium cat litter market within six months of operation. RICHI Machinery has successfully commissioned a state-of-the-art 20 T/H Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) pellet plant in Hamburg, Germany, in collaboration with a leading European waste management consortium. This landmark project processes municipal solid waste, industrial non-recyclables, and commercial packaging materials into high-calorific fuel pellets.

The plant integrates RICHI’s heavy-duty ring die pellet mills with advanced flotation separation and multi-stage shredding systems to handle heterogeneous input materials. The final pellets meet EN Plus industrial fuel standards and are supplied to a regional cement kiln network, replacing 30,000 tons of coal annually.

Key innovations include an AI-driven sorting line for contaminant removal and an integrated emission control system exceeding EU environmental directives. The project, from contract signing to commissioning, was completed within 14 months, demonstrating RICHI’s capability in large-scale waste valorization. Recently, the construction project of Nigeria high-quality organic fertilizer production line has been basically completed. It is expected to be put into use in early March 2025. By then, it can meet the disposal needs of about 25,000 pigs, and produce about 10,000 tons of commercial organic fertilizer annually, promoting the development of crop-breeding circular agriculture. It is worth mentioning that this project is a project tendered by the local government.

The ability and level of manure collection and disposal in livestock and poultry farms are the key to ensuring the implementation of crop-breeding circular agriculture. The construction content of the project includes organic fertilizer production workshops, production supporting rooms, pig manure treatment production line equipment, organic fertilizer production line equipment, environmental protection equipment, photovoltaic power generation equipment, etc.

The design and configuration of pig manure fermentation tanks, dry-wet separators and other equipment will use the process and facilities of producing organic fertilizer from breeding waste and straw to achieve the organic combination and virtuous cycle of planting and breeding industries, and create green circular ecological agriculture.

It is reported that crop-breeding circular agriculture is an effective means to accelerate the resource utilization of livestock and poultry manure, clear the bottlenecks of crop-breeding cycle, promote the return of manure to the field, and promote the green and high-quality development of agriculture.

In recent years, the demand for breeding and raising pig farms and 10,000 acres of fertile land in the project area has actively explored the “livestock-slurry-fertilizer-grain” circulation system, continuously strengthened the link between the planting and breeding industries, and worked to accelerate the resource utilization of livestock and poultry manure, clear the bottlenecks in the breeding and raising cycle, and promote the return of manure to the fields. While utilizing manure resources, it also promotes the reduction and efficiency of chemical fertilizers, and achieves a win-win situation for the planting and breeding industries.

In the future, the local government will continue to strengthen the supervision and management of the green breeding and raising circular agriculture pilot project, explore the creation of a long-term operating mechanism, and promote the high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas with the construction of high-quality organic fertilizer production projects.

The client of this project is from the United States, an egg-laying chicken farming company, and this organic fertilizer project is part of the construction of an ecological circulation system for egg-laying chicken farming. The project was completed in November 2024.

The organic fertilizer production line project will ship 6 or 7 tons of organic fertilizer every day, mainly sold to major farms and stores in the United States. The client company has achieved an annual output of 50,000 tons, with an annual output value of more than 1 million US dollars.

In recent days, more than 100 tons of chicken manure are waiting to be processed every day in the fertilizer raw material storage workshop of the project. The chicken manure that others don’t want is the treasure of this project! At present, by processing organic fertilizer with chicken manure as the main raw material and taking orders to produce customized fertilizers, the orders in the hands of customers have been scheduled until June 2025.

In the organic fertilizer processing workshop, chicken manure is fermented and aged, and then automatically transported to the organic fertilizer production workshop by conveyor belt. The processed chicken manure raw materials and various auxiliary materials are crushed, screened, mixed, stirred and packaged through the automated production line before entering the finished product workshop.

After strict proportioning, the product ensures that the organic matter content is greater than 30%, and the content of nitrogen, scale, potassium and other elements is greater than 4%. High-quality organic fertilizer is in short supply in the market.

Usually chicken manure fermentation takes 20 to 25 days. In order to reduce the pollution of chicken manure fermentation to the environment, the customer company uses nano-film covering to increase the full fermentation degree of the raw materials and reduce volatilization, and upgrades the raw material workshop in all directions to waterproof and prevent leakage, and basically no odor can be smelled in the factory area.

This year, the customer invested more than 200,000 US dollars to upgrade environmental protection. At the same time, efforts are made to improve the output and quality of organic fertilizer production, based on more accurate “formulated fertilizers”, and develop more products suitable for the planting industry to save costs and labor for agricultural production.
