Receiving of raw materials

The raw material storage system includes silos (a huge cylinder, a landmark building in a general feed factory), oil tanks (for storing oil, usually soybean oil), and raw material warehouses (where packaged raw materials are stored).

Raw material cleaning

Raw material cleaning can remove impurities and contaminants to ensure the safety and hygiene of raw materials. Raw material cleaning system: generally includes a cylindrical primary cleaning screen and a permanent magnetic cylinder.

Raw material crushing is to crush the raw materials to improve the effect of subsequent processing. Raw material crushing is nothing more than using a crusher to crush the materials into the particle size you need.

Batching and mixing system

Put various materials on the batching scale according to the quantity specified in the formula, and then put them into the mixer for mixing. When the mixing uniformity reaches the standard, it becomes a semi-finished feed product.

Pelleting section

Steam is introduced from the conditioner to mature the mixed materials, which can sterilize, make the feed easier to digest and absorb, and increase the service life of the equipment. The matured materials are then pelletized. The size and length of the pellets are controlled by the ring die and cutter of the ring die pellet machine.

Cooling system

Generally, it is used to reduce the moisture content of the feed to prevent the feed from getting moldy. In winter, the cooling tower and air inlet must also be heated, otherwise the moisture content will exceed the standard. If you want to process feed for chickens, piglets, etc., you can configure a pellet crumbler.

screening & packaging

After cooling and crumbling, the feed cannot be packaged directly. It needs to be graded to screen out the materials with too large or too small particles. Only the materials with qualified particle size are retained to ensure the standard and quality of each package of feed.

Quality testing and quality control

How to design a silo system for a feed mill factory?

  1. Silo location: should be as close to the feed workshop as possible to save energy consumption for raw material transportation;
  2. Silo function: should be designed with cleaning, temperature measurement, silo dumping, ventilation and dust removal functions;
  3. Discharging port design: according to the raw material entering the animal feed factory, if there are mostly bulk raw materials and no dump trucks, a car unloading flip platform should be designed. If there are mostly bagged raw materials, manual bag unpacking is required. The size of the unloading port should be large enough to be suitable for multiple people to unload at the same time and shorten the unloading time; at the same time, the unloading canopy should meet the unloading requirements.
  4. Powder silo: silos are generally only suitable for the storage of granular raw materials, but small-diameter silos (within 6 m in diameter) can increase the cone angle of the discharge hopper, enlarge the size of the discharge port, and cooperate with special discharge equipment and “air cannon” and other devices to store powder raw materials with good fluidity, but management should also be strengthened, otherwise once the powder raw materials clump in the silo, it will be difficult to discharge.
