In early 2023, RICHI Machinery was commissioned to design, manufacture, and supply a complete small tofu cat litter production plant in Vietnam with a planned annual output of 1,000 tons. The project was implemented by a privately owned pet product entrepreneur located in southern Vietnam, who aimed to establish a local production facility to meet growing demand for biodegradable cat litter in Vietnam’s expanding urban pet care market.

Vietnam has experienced rapid growth in pet ownership over the past decade, especially in cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. With rising environmental awareness and restrictions on mineral-based cat litter disposal, tofu cat litter made from soybean fiber and starch has become increasingly popular due to its biodegradable, flushable, and dust-free characteristics.

This small tofu cat litter production plant in Vietnam was built inside the client’s existing industrial building, with a total facility area of 2,000 m² and a dedicated production workshop of 1,600 m². The plant uses tofu fiber, starch, corn, and guar gum as raw materials and employs a dry granulation process including feeding, mixing, pelletizing, drying, screening, and packaging.

The project operates under a single-shift system of 8 hours per day and 240 working days per year, producing approximately 4.17 tons per day or 0.52 tons per hour.
