6 T/H Pine Cat Litter Line in Latvia Produces First Retail-Grade Pellets During Commissioning

The first sale-oriented product from a new 6 t/h pine cat litter production line in Latvia has moved beyond simple “can the machine make pellets?” testing.

Commissioning has shifted to the characteristics that matter after a bag reaches the pet-products market: granule consistency, loose fines, cooling condition, screening efficiency and packaging behavior.

The customer uses clean untreated pine sawdust and suitable softwood fines from wood processing. MDF dust, painted timber, preservative-treated wood and adhesive-containing panel residues are excluded.

One Line, Two Retail Specifications

The Latvian producer is preparing two initial product groups.

Standard pine litter: approximately 6 mm cylindrical pellets for the main retail range.

Larger-granule trial: approximately 8 mm product for customers preferring a coarser litter format.

Changing diameter affects die selection and can change practical throughput, so the 6 t/h project figure should not be interpreted as an identical guaranteed output for every SKU.

Commissioning Moved Through Three Product Checks

Pellet Formation

Prepared sawdust must enter the pelletizing section at a stable moisture and particle condition.

The current runs are checking whether pellets leave the die with sufficient integrity for downstream handling.

Cooling and Fines Removal

Hot pellets are not packed immediately.

They pass through cooling before screening removes loose fines and separates material that should not enter the retail bag.

For cat litter, visible dust can directly affect customer perception.

Bagging

The customer plans several branded retail formats rather than industrial bulk dispatch.

Initial packaging work is centered on smaller consumer bags, while larger economy packs can be added according to distributor demand.

The weighing system therefore needs to remain stable despite the relatively low bulk density of wood pellets compared with many feed or mineral products.

Latvia Gives the Project a Different Raw-Material Logic

The country’s forest and wood-processing sector provides access to suitable clean softwood residues, which gives pine-based pet litter a realistic sourcing foundation.

The project is consequently positioned around pine pellet cat litter production, wood cat litter manufacturing equipment, 6 t/h pine litter pellet line, and low-dust wood pellet litter processing rather than another industrial fuel-pellet story.

Once the two initial SKUs pass continuous production checks, commissioning will move from engineering adjustment to operator-controlled production.
