Philippines 15 T/H Pig Feed Mill Moves from Mechanical Installation to Control-System Testing

The main machines are in position, the conveyors are connected and the production floors now resemble the feed mill shown in the original engineering drawings. At a 15 t/h pig feed mill project in the Philippines, however, the next stage of work is largely happening inside electrical cabinets, sensors and control logic.

Mechanical installation of the RICHI-supplied plant has been completed. The site team is now preparing the production system for electrical checks and no-load testing before the first commercial feed ingredients enter the feed pellet production line.

The Philippine customer plans to manufacture several pig feed categories, including starter, grower, finisher and sow feeds.

Mechanical Completion Changes the Site Work

During the previous installation stage, progress could be measured visibly: a pig feed pellet mill was lifted into place, an elevator was erected or a bin was connected.

The current work is different.

A conveyor may be physically installed but still needs to prove that it starts in the correct sequence. A gate may open correctly by hand but still needs to respond to the control system. A bin level sensor must send the right signal before automatic production can be trusted.

The project has therefore entered a system-integration stage.

Interlocks Will Be Checked Before Material Enters the Plant

One of the priorities is confirming how upstream equipment responds when something downstream changes.

If an elevator stops, material should not continue feeding into it indefinitely. If a downstream bin reaches its limit, the corresponding upstream route must respond correctly. Emergency-stop logic must also work across the relevant equipment group.

The testing program includes motor direction, sensors, gates, weighing signals, conveyors, elevators and safety interlocks.

These checks will be completed before the factory moves into loaded production.

Different Pig Feeds Will Not Be Introduced at Once

The customer will eventually produce several formulas from ingredients such as corn, soybean meal, rice bran and other cereal materials together with oils, minerals and micro ingredients.

RICHI Machinery does not plan to commission every product on the first material run.

The team will begin with a representative formula and establish the principal production route first.

Once grinding, batching, mixing and downstream production are stable, additional pig feed specifications can be introduced progressively.

This reduces the number of variables being changed at the same time.

Crumbling Requirements Add Another Finished-Feed Route

Feeds for younger animals may require a different physical form from products for grower, finisher or sow applications.

Where crumbled feed is required, pellets proceed through the corresponding downstream size-reduction and screening route.

That means the control logic must handle more than a single “raw material in, pellet out” sequence.

Product routing is being checked as part of the current commissioning preparation.

First Material Run Is Now the Next Site Target

After electrical verification and no-load testing are completed, the Philippine animal feed factory project will be ready for its first controlled material run.

That will be the first time the complete 15 t/h system is tested as a feed factory rather than as individual installed machines.

Mechanical construction has given the project its physical form. The current control-system work will determine whether all of those sections can operate together when commercial pig feed production begins.
