Steel fabrication and main-machine assembly have started at RICHI Machinery for a 7 t/h empty fruit bunch pellet project ordered by an Indonesian palm biomass processor.
The manufacturing release follows completion of the project’s principal process engineering, including the preparation route required before EFB can enter pellet production.
For the Indonesian customer, the future 8 mm biomass pellets will provide a densified fuel product from residues connected to the palm oil industry.
The Largest Engineering Question Was Upstream of the Pellet Mill
Empty fruit bunch is a fibrous palm residue with a physical condition very different from ready-to-pellet sawdust.
Depending on the upstream handling route, EFB can arrive with long fibers and substantial moisture.
That means the production target cannot be evaluated from EFB pellet mill capacity alone.
Before releasing equipment into manufacturing, RICHI worked backward from the intended finished output to determine how much prepared material must reach the pelletizing section and how much water may need to be removed earlier in the process.
Wet-Material Throughput Exceeds Finished Pellet Output
If incoming EFB requires significant drying, part of its mass leaves the process as water vapor.
The upstream system therefore needs to handle more wet material than the final hourly pellet tonnage.
This mass-balance relationship influenced the dryer and material-handling configuration for the Indonesian biomass pellet project.
It also explains why two plants both described as “7 t/h EFB pellet lines” could require different upstream equipment if their incoming moisture conditions are different.
Manufacturing Has Opened on Several Equipment Groups
Current factory work covers the major sections required after raw-material receiving.
Coarse fiber preparation equipment is being produced alongside downstream size-reduction and pelletizing systems. Conveying and auxiliary components are following the approved layout so that each production section can later be connected at the Indonesian site.
The cooling and screening section will handle the 8 mm pellets after formation.
Customer Site Preparation Continues in Parallel
While manufacturing advances in China, the customer is preparing the corresponding plant area in Indonesia.
Foundation positions, utility interfaces and equipment access need to remain aligned with the final engineering documents.
Changes on either side now have greater consequences because physical machines are already entering production.
RICHI’s project team is therefore keeping the manufacturing drawings and site information under coordinated review.
Factory Assembly Will Be the Next Visible Milestone
As individual machines move through fabrication, the project will gradually shift toward assembly and pre-shipment inspection.
Only after delivery and installation will the equipment be tested with the customer’s actual EFB.
That material commissioning stage will establish the practical relationship among moisture reduction, fiber preparation, feeding and pellet production.
For now, the start of manufacturing marks the point at which the 7 t/h Indonesia EFB pellet plant project has moved from an engineering plan into physical execution on the RICHI factory floor.
