0086-138 3838 9622A complete alfalfa pellet production line, rated at 6 t/h, has been loaded onto containers this week at the port of departure, bound for an agricultural development zone in Saudi Arabia.
Alfalfa pelletizing for livestock feed is a different animal (no pun intended) from biomass fuel pellets — protein retention during the drying and pressing stages is the priority, not just throughput. Too much heat during pelletizing and you cook off nutritional value, which defeats the purpose.
The line includes a hay/forage crusher for pre-processing the baled alfalfa, a pellet mill configured with a lower-temperature operating profile, and a pellet cooler sized generously to bring temperature down quickly post-pressing.
Pellet diameter is 8mm, intended for export-grade dairy cattle feed — Saudi Arabia imports significant volumes of alfalfa hay and pellets for its dairy sector given limited domestic forage production.
Container count: four 40-foot high-cube containers. The pellet mill’s drive motor and gearbox were crated separately with extra padding — these are the components most sensitive to shock during sea transport, and RICHI’s packaging team has a specific protocol for anything headed through the Suez route given the handling at transfer ports.
Estimated arrival is 5-6 weeks. The buyer’s civil works for the factory shed are reportedly already complete, so installation could begin almost immediately upon arrival, weather permitting (summer temperatures there can complicate certain installation tasks involving electrical work).
