A Vietnamese biomass company has completed a technical visit to RICHI Machinery and approved the principal layout concept for a planned 10 t/h rice husk pellet production plant.
The customer is developing the project around rice-milling residues collected from a regional supply network. Rice husk will remain the dominant feedstock, while compatible clean biomass fines may be evaluated separately if future supply conditions justify their use.
During the visit, discussions concentrated less on individual machine appearance and more on how a commercial plant should handle continuous rice husk intake, moisture variation, storage and bulk pellet dispatch.
Factory Visit Moves the Discussion from Equipment to Plant Operation
Before arriving at RICHI Machinery, the customer had already identified 8 mm industrial biomass pellets as its main planned product.
The unresolved questions concerned plant configuration.
Rice husk is already relatively small compared with wood chips or crop stalks. If incoming material is sufficiently clean and suitably sized, installing a heavy coarse-shredding section would add cost without solving a real problem.
The preliminary route therefore avoids unnecessary front-end equipment.
Layout Confirmed During the Visit
Rice husk receiving → impurity control → moisture management where required → buffer storage → MZLH pelletizing section → cooling → screening → finished-product storage
The final number of rice husk pellet mills will be selected to provide the required plant output with operating margin rather than forcing one machine to carry the complete 10 t/h target.
Rice Husk Ash Characteristics Were Discussed with the Customer
The biomass pellet project is aimed at industrial fuel users, not premium residential wood-pellet markets.
Rice husk has different ash and combustion characteristics from clean stem wood.
That affects how the finished product should be positioned commercially.
RICHI therefore did not present the proposed rice husk pellet production line as a route to make the material chemically equivalent to ENplus-type clean wood pellets.
The customer will target buyers whose combustion systems and fuel specifications are suitable for agricultural-residue pellets.
Finished Pellets Are Planned for Bulk Handling
The current business model does not require a high-speed small retail packing line.
After cooling and screening, pellets will move to finished-product storage before bulk loading or larger industrial packaging according to buyer requirements.
This decision removes unnecessary small-bag packaging equipment from the first-stage investment.
Technical Meeting Also Covered Wear and Maintenance Access
Rice husk contains mineral matter that can contribute to wear.
During the factory visit, the customer reviewed pellet mill access, ring-die replacement, bearing maintenance and the arrangement of working platforms.
Those discussions influenced the final equipment spacing.
For a buyer comparing a 10 t/h rice husk pellet plant, rice mill waste pelletizing system or industrial biomass pellet equipment for Vietnam, the project illustrates why layout approval should happen only after raw-material characteristics and downstream sales method are clear.
The customer’s visit has now closed the preliminary layout stage. Detailed engineering can proceed around the approved 10 t/h plant concept.
