Expert Answers for Your Nigerian Pellet Production

Navigating the complexities of establishing or expanding a pellet production business in Nigeria requires reliable, localized expertise. Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions we receive from Nigerian entrepreneurs, farmers, and industrial processors. From selecting the right pelleting machine in Nigeria for unique local materials to integrating complete turnkey systems, our solutions are engineered for Nigeria’s specific challenges and opportunities.

Selecting the correct model depends on your specific application. For instance, high-capacity feed pellet production lines supplying large poultry integrators typically opt for the SZLH508 or larger models, while a farm-based operation might find the SZLH320 perfectly suited.

For biomass pellet plant projects utilizing Nigeria’s abundant sawdust and palm kernel shell (PKS), the MZLH520 is a popular choice due to its robust construction and optimal output.

Crucial Note on Customization & Final Pricing:

It is vital to understand that the prices above are reference ranges only. The final cost of a biomass pellet machine line in Nigeria is inherently custom. Key factors that determine where your project falls within these wide bands include:

  • Raw Material Profile: Processing dry sawdust is far less complex and costly than processing high-moisture, abrasive palm kernel shells (PKS), which require extensive drying and wear-resistant pellet mill components.
  • Preprocessing Requirements: The need for a wood chipper, a high-capacity hammer mill, or a specialized shredder for fibrous materials (like empty fruit bunches) adds to the cost.
  • Drying System: The choice and size of the dryer (e.g., rotary drum dryer, belt dryer) to handle Nigeria’s humid climate is one of the most significant cost variables.
  • Automation Level: A plant with manual feeding and bagging differs vastly in price from one with full PLC control, automatic weighing, and robotic palletizing.
  • Civil Works & Installation: While our quote is typically for equipment (FOB/CIF), we provide layout and foundation plans; local construction costs in Nigeria are separate.

The core pelleting machine in Nigeria for your plant will be selected from our MZLH series or other heavy-duty models, precisely matched to your material’s characteristics. However, we are a full-line supplier. We engineer the complete system—from raw material intake to bagged pellets—ensuring all components work in harmony.

SFJH185*2C/3C5.530-402 or 3Large-scale, gentle screening for major production facilities.$10,000 – $16,000

Key Features & Benefits for Nigerian Pellet Producers:

  • Precision Grading for Quality Assurance: Both series efficiently remove dust and oversize particles, ensuring your final bagged pellets are clean, uniform, and meet customer specifications. The rotary (SFJH) series is particularly adept at creating three distinct product grades (large, medium, small) from a single stream.
  • Optimized Design for Clean Operation: Internal surfaces feature a streamlined design to prevent material buildup and cross-contamination between batches. The quick-release screen clamping mechanism allows for fast screen changes to switch between different pellet sizes or for maintenance.
  • Rugged and Low-Maintenance Construction: The vibrating screens (SFJZ) use a self-balancing drive that requires no lubrication, eliminating oil leaks. The rotary screens (SFJH) use a robust eccentric weight mechanism with an elastic tail support for smooth, low-vibration operation that protects both the machine and the building structure.
  • Maximizes Yield & Profitability: By accurately separating fines, these screens allow you to recycle this material back into the process (e.g., to the mixer or pellet mill), reducing raw material waste and increasing overall plant efficiency.

Selecting the Right Screen & Final Cost Factors:
Choose a vibrating screen (SFJZ) for high-speed, high-capacity grading of durable materials like wood pellets or standard feed. Choose a rotary screen (SFJH) for more fragile pellets, finer multi-size separation, or where minimal noise and vibration are priorities.

The final price is influenced by:

  • Number of Decks: 1C (single deck), 2C (double deck), or 3C (triple deck).
  • Screen Mesh Material & Size: Specific stainless steel wire mesh sizes tailored to your pellet dimensions.
  • Inlet/Outlet Configuration: Custom flanges or adapters to connect to your existing conveying system.
  • Stand or Support Structure: Inclusion of a dedicated support frame.
  • First, all critical contact parts in our DYGL or FZLH series machines, such as the conditioner, feed hopper, and extrusion chambers, are lined with or constructed from stainless steel (SS304/SS316) to resist corrosion and acid degradation.
  • Second, the machine must be a heavy duty pellet press with a high-torque gearbox and a reinforced shaft to generate the immense pressure needed to densify often non-homogeneous organic matter into strong granules without binders.
  • Third, we utilize a deep-conditioning system with steam or water addition to optimally raise material temperature and plasticity, which is crucial for forming durable pellets that can withstand bagging and transport.
  • First, EFB requires dedicated shredding and fine grinding equipment to reduce it to a suitable fiber length.
  • Second, the core pelleting machine in Nigeria must be exceptionally robust. We recommend our MZLH520 or MZLH678 models, which are built as heavy duty pellet press units.
  • First, the CPH must be finely ground using a hammer mill with a small screen (e.g., 2-3mm) to increase its surface area for binding.
  • Second, the pellet mill in Nigeria, such as an SZLH420, should be configured with a longer or more intensive conditioner. This allows for extended steam penetration to soften the lignin in the husk and improve plasticity.
  • Third, the pellet die should have a slightly lower compression ratio (shorter effective thickness) to reduce the resistance when extruding the fibrous material, preventing blockages and excessive energy consumption.
  • a hammer mill for grinding ingredients like maize and soybean meal to a fine flour;
  • a precision batch mixer for combining the ground materials with vitamins and premixes;
  • the heart of the system, which is a single-screw extruder such as our DGP-120B model – this machine cooks and shapes the dough into floating pellets;
  • a multi-pass belt dryer (like our DHG series) to gently reduce moisture;
  • a fat coater for applying oil and enhancing nutrition;
  • a cooling and screening section before final packing.
  • Firstly, capital cost: the twin-screw extruder and its associated higher-capacity auxiliary equipment represent a significantly larger initial investment.
  • Secondly, operating costs: the twin-screw machine typically has higher mechanical wear parts (twin screws and barrels) but offers better energy efficiency per ton produced (kWh/ton) due to its positive displacement pumping action and superior cooking efficiency.
