This is a tofu cat litter production line in Italy project that mainly processes high-end cat litter.

The customer is an Italian pet products company that mainly processes, sells, imports and exports pet daily necessities. In June 2024, the customer invested $210,000 to build a 10,000 t/a tofu cat litter production project using the existing production workshop.

The cat litter production workshop of this project is divided into semi-finished product area, production area and finished product area from west to east.

The entire plant area meets the principles of clear and reasonable functional zoning, compact layout, land saving and conducive to production. The labor quota of this cat litter production line project is 10 people, the project works 300 days a year, one shift a day, and each shift works 8 hours.

Guar gum:

Cationic guar gum is a water-soluble polymer, and its chemical name is guar gum hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride. It uses natural guar gum as raw material, and the endosperm part left after removing the epidermis and germ mainly contains galactose and mannose. It is dried, crushed and pressurized to hydrolyze enough to precipitate with 20% ethanol solution, centrifuged and dried, and then reacted with dehydrated trimethyl ammonium chloride. All guar gum in this project is food grade guar gum.

Production process design of Italian tofu cat litter project

Brief description of the process flow of this tofu cat litter production line in Italy project:

The raw tofu fiber, corn starch, water, guar gum and water are sent to the mixer in a certain proportion through the feeding agitator (closed type) and mixed and stirred, and then flow into the silo from the bottom outlet; it is lifted and transported into the pelletizer through the silo agitator; it is made into strip-shaped particles by the cat litter pelletizer.

At this time, the particles are soft and hydrated, and are transported to the drying box unit by the chain conveyor for drying. The drying unit uses electric energy for heating; after drying, it is cooled by an air-cooled mesh chain and transported to a closed vibrating screen for screening.

The powder is screened by the lower screen and taken out from the bottom outlet regularly for recycling. It is then cooled and transported to an automatic packaging machine for packaging and production.

Public supporting projects

(1) Water supply

The water source for this tofu cat litter production line in Italy project is tap water. The production water for the project is mixing water, with a water volume of about 400m3/a. The labor quota for this project is 10 people, with 300 working days per year. The water consumption is calculated at 40L/d·person, so the domestic water consumption is 120m3/a.

(2) Drainage

Part of the production mixing water evaporates, and part enters the product without being discharged. The domestic sewage generation coefficient is calculated as 0.8, so the domestic sewage generation volume is 96m3/a, and the main pollutants are COD and ammonia nitrogen. After being treated in a septic tank, the domestic sewage enters the sewage network.

(3) Power supply

The annual power consumption of this tofu cat litter production line in Italy project is 100,000 kWh/a. The power is drawn from the local power supply network. The power supply is sufficient to meet the needs of project construction and production.

(4) Heating and ventilation

The workshop of this project is not designed for heating. The ventilation in the workshop adopts a combination of forced ventilation and natural ventilation.
