This is the pet food production line project with the largest output that RICHI has ever done.
Although we have established many pellet production lines in the United States, including wood pellet production lines, alfalfa pellet production lines, cattle feed pellet production lines, forage hemp pellet production lines, organic fertilizer pellet production lines, etc., this is the first time we have established an extruded feed production line in the United States.

Overview
This is a high-end 10t/h pet food factory in United States. It is a new project. The factory is located in Florida, USA. The project covers an area of about 74,207m2, the construction area is about 110,719m2, and the total equipment investment is 1.73 million US dollars.
The project construction content mainly includes high-fresh meat pet food production line, high-fresh meat pet food raw material production line, auxiliary facilities and public facilities, etc.
After production, it will form an annual output of 72,000 tons of high-fresh meat pet food and 135,000 tons of high-fresh meat pet food raw materials (including 81,000 tons of meat and bone meal and 54,000 tons of oil); the staff is 65 people, the annual working hours are 300 days, three shifts are adopted, each shift is 8 hours, and the annual operation is 7200 hours (300 days/a, 24 hours/d).
In this project, we only provide a full set of equipment for the 10t/h pet extruded feed line and some grinders and dryers for meat and bone meal processing. Other equipment is purchased by the customer.

High-content fresh meat pet extruded feed production process design
This 10t/h pet food factory in United States project mainly produces fresh meat pet food and fresh meat pet food raw materials. The process flow of each product is described as follows:
Fresh meat pet food processing process:

Screening and color sorting of raw materials before entering the warehouse, temporary storage of raw materials
Corn and wheat purchased from outside are temporarily stored in the raw material silo. Before entering the silo, a cleaning screen and a vibrating screen are set up to screen out impurities in the grain; a color sorter is set up to automatically sort out the different-colored particles in the corn and wheat, ensuring that the wheat and corn entering the silo are purer.

Feeding (matching feeding and screening)
The purchased corn, wheat and rice temporarily stored in the silo are fed into the silo and enter the next process. The feeding port is equipped with a cylindrical primary cleaning screen and a permanent magnetic cylinder to screen out impurities in the grain.

Batching and first mixing
All formulas are input into the computer, and the batching is automated. The batching accuracy is greater than>0.3%. A double-blade mixer is used, the mixing cycle is short, and the coefficient of variation of mixing uniformity is ≤5%. The materials enter the double-blade mixer after being accurately configured by the microcomputer and weighing according to the scientific formula.
The microcomputer controls the discharge of the materials through the buffer bin, scraper, bucket elevator, and rotary distributor to enter the next process. A permanent magnetic cylinder is set up in the first mixing process to screen out iron impurities in the raw materials.

Crushing
The mixed raw materials enter the silo to be crushed, and then are transported to the crusher through a closed pipeline. The 10t/h pet food factory in United States project is equipped with 2 production lines, of which 1 10t/h production line is equipped with 1 hammer mill, and 1 5t/h production line is equipped with 1 hammer mill and 1 ultrafine mill.
The products with higher requirements for product fineness are crushed by hammer mill and then transported to the ultrafine mill through a closed conveying pipeline. After the raw materials are crushed, they are lifted through a closed pipeline and input into the next section.

Screening
The purpose of screening is to return the sieved materials that do not meet the requirements to the crushing process for crushing, and the sieved materials with qualified particle sizes enter the next process.

Premixing and packaging
Meat meal, fish meal and other auxiliary materials are put into the mixer through the feeding port according to the scientific formula for premixing. The premixing uses a double-blade mixer with a short mixing cycle and a mixing uniformity coefficient of variation of ≤5%. The materials enter the double-blade mixer after being accurately configured by the microcomputer and weighing according to the scientific formula. T
he microcomputer controls the discharge of the materials through the buffer bin, scraper, bucket elevator, and hexagonal distributor to enter the next process. After mixing evenly, quantitative packaging is carried out by a microcomputer-controlled quantitative packaging scale for easy use in the production line.

Second mixing
The crushed grain raw materials and auxiliary materials such as meat meal are mixed twice using a double-blade mixer with a short mixing cycle and a mixing uniformity coefficient of variation of ≤5%. The materials are precisely configured by microcomputer and weighing according to the scientific formula and then enter the double-paddle mixer.
The microcomputer controls the discharge of the materials and enters the next process through the buffer bin, scraper, bucket elevator and distributor.

Extrusion
The raw materials after secondary mixing enter the waiting extrusion bin through a closed pipeline, and then enter the twin-screw extruder through the waiting extrusion bin for extrusion. Extrusion is a high-temperature and short-time heat treatment process, which can reduce the degradation of food nutrients and improve the starch digestibility of protein.
Various shapes of pet dry food, such as fish type and bone type, can be produced through the pet food extruder machine. The heat source of this process is the pipeline steam heating of the local thermal power company.

Drying and primary cooling
The extruded feed are transported to the drying process through the cyclone. The drying section is responsible for the dehydration of the extruded dry food. The texture of the extruded material is relatively soft, and the moisture content reaches 20%~30%. After drying by the pet food dryer, the moisture content of the finished product is controlled at 8%~10%, which can ensure the storage of the material for a certain period of time.
The heat source of this process is the local pipeline steam heating. The drying is matched with a screening machine to screen out the unqualified products after extrusion and drying. Because the extruded feed are large particles and blocks, the screening equipment is closed and basically does not produce dust. The screened materials are unqualified products.
The dried feed need to be cooled from high temperature to near room temperature, and some moisture can be taken away. The 10t/h pet food factory in United States project cooling adopts air cooling.

Spraying and secondary cooling
The feed after primary cooling enter the spraying bin. The puffed materials are large particles and are temporarily stored without generating dust. Then they enter the spraying process. A layer of animal oil and meat powder is sprayed on the surface of the cooled products to give the pet food a certain fragrance. The project spraying is carried out in a closed spray box. The sprayed feed need to be cooled again with a fan.

Secondary screening and metal detection
The main purpose of secondary screening is to screen out the powder and agglomerated particles attached to the formed pet food dry food. At the same time, metal detection is required to prevent metal impurities in pet food.

Manual inspection is required after metal detection.

Packaging and warehousing
After inspection, it is the finished product, and after packaging, it is stored for sale.
Production process of raw materials (meat and bone meal) for high-fresh meat pet food
In this process, only the mesh belt dryer, grinder, screener and cooler are provided by RICHI MACHINERY, and other equipment are purchased by the customer.
Raw materials for high-fresh meat pet food include meat and bone meal and fat. The raw materials are livestock and poultry products (fish, chicken frames, duck frames, animal suet, chicken liver, duck liver, etc.) and auxiliary materials (spices, preservatives, etc.). After crushing, metal detection, mincing, steaming and pressing, cakes and protein juice are obtained.
The protein juice is centrifuged to obtain fat and juice. The juice is concentrated and combined with the cake, and dried, separated, cooled once, crushed, screened, and cooled twice to obtain meat and bone meal.
The process of the pet feed production line is designed by us, but the process of the pet feed raw material production line is not designed by us, so we will not introduce it in detail here.

Heating

The gas used in each process of the project is indirect steam, and the loss of steam and water is 3%; the gas used in the concentration process is 0.48 of the exhaust gas loss of cooking and drying.

Layout plan
The 10t/h pet food factory in United States project uses the plant under construction. The total area of the project is about 74,207 m2. The site is rectangular, with the longest east-west length of about 337 m and the north-south length of about 222 m. The terrain of the project site is flat, and the buildings in the plant are divided into production area and office and living area according to their functions.
- Production area: mainly located in plant 3# and plant 4#, of which plant 3# is located on the west side of the plant, mainly used for the production of high-fresh meat pet food and high-fresh meat pet food raw materials for this project; plant 4# is located on the east side of the plant, mainly used for raw material and finished product storage; the supporting sewage treatment plant is located on the southeast side of the plant.
- Office and living area: 1# R&D center and 2# dormitory building are located on the northeast side of the feed plant.
- Road system planning: Based on the requirements of convenient transportation, the internal roads of the plant are reasonably arranged to form a complete road system. In order to facilitate the entry and exit of materials and personnel, three mixed entrances and exits for personnel and goods are set up on the north and west sides of the factory area to ensure smooth production and transportation of goods.
Rationality analysis
The various facilities in the production area are reasonably arranged according to the process flow, and the material transportation is short and convenient, which can meet the needs of the material flow and the purpose of quick material transportation.
The functional areas of this project are clearly divided into different zones, which can meet the requirements of non-production and unrelated personnel entering the production area.
The layout of this 10t/h pet food factory in United States project is compact and can meet the requirements of saving land.
The project has clear divisions, and the overall layout better meets the smoothness of the process flow, reflects the convenience of material transportation, simplifies the transportation of materials in the factory area, and facilitates production; after taking effective treatment measures, the impact of production waste gas and equipment operation noise on the office and living area is relatively small.
