Thailand has a warm and humid climate, which is suitable for bamboo growth. It has a large number of bamboo forests, which provide sufficient raw materials for processing. Bamboo chips can generally be used for fuel, papermaking, processing bamboo fiber, bamboo charcoal, etc. Among them, papermaking and processing bamboo fiber have higher costs and relatively more pollution; while processing bamboo charcoal has lower costs and relatively less pollution.

Bamboo charcoal is mainly used as activated carbon and barbecue fuel. It also has super strong adsorption capacity and releases negative ions. It has significant adsorption and decomposition effects on formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia and other major pollutants in indoor air and car air. The product has a wide range of applications and has good development prospects.

The construction content of the project mainly includes: construction of carbonization pool, raw material storage area, production and processing workshop, auxiliary supporting projects, environmental protection projects, etc.

The biomass pellet plant project is entered from the north. The entire plot is in the shape of an east-west rectangular block. The east side is arranged as a raw material shed, which is followed by crushing, heating and drying, and rod making; the north side is a carbonization pool and office and living room; the northeast side is cooling and packaging, and the west side is a finished product warehouse.

Description of bamboo pellet process flow:

  1. Crushing: Place irregularly shaped and sized raw materials (bamboo chips, with a moisture content of about 50%) into a crusher and crush them into bamboo chips with uniform fineness of about 3mm.
  2. Drying: Use a dryer to dry the crushed particles to a moisture content of between 6% and 12%.
  3. Rod making: The crushed and dried raw materials are made into hollow strip semi-finished firewood sticks under the high temperature and high pressure of the rod making machine. The size of the firewood stick is: 2~6cm in diameter and 40~50cm in length.
  4. Carbonization: Stack the semi-finished firewood sticks neatly in the carbonization pool, seal the air inlet, ignite, control the oxygen intake during combustion, and carbonize into charcoal. The carbonization process can generally be divided into three stages:
    • Drying stage: The project ignites the formed bamboo chips sticks. From the ignition to the furnace temperature rising to 160℃, the moisture contained in the machine-made sticks mainly evaporates by external heat and the heat generated by its own combustion. The chemical composition of the machine-made sticks has hardly changed.
    • Initial stage of carbonization: In this stage, the heat is mainly generated by the combustion of the sticks themselves, which raises the kiln temperature to between 160 and 280°C. At this time, the bamboo material undergoes thermal decomposition reaction, and its composition begins to change. Among them, unstable components, such as hemicellulose, decompose to produce CO2, CO and other substances.
    • Full carbonization stage: In this stage, the bamboo material undergoes rapid thermal decomposition, and a large amount of liquid products such as bamboo tar and bamboo vinegar are generated. In addition, combustible gases such as methane and ethylene are also generated. The combustible gas (gas product) actually generated during the carbonization and pyrolysis process of this project enters the pipeline for drying and combustion. During the pipeline transportation process, due to cooling, there will be condensed liquid products, namely bamboo vinegar and bamboo tar.
  5. Pelletization: The dried wood chips are sent to the biomass bamboo pellet machine for extrusion molding.

① Water supply:

The water used in this bamboo pellet mill plant in Thailand project is supplied by mountain spring water, and the water is mainly used for employees’ daily life and circulating water pool replenishment.

② Drainage:

There is no production wastewater discharge in this project; the initial rainwater is collected and precipitated, and is reused for sprinkling and dust reduction; the amount of domestic sewage generated is small, and it is treated in a septic tank and reused for green land irrigation or regular cleaning as agricultural fertilizer, so that domestic sewage is not discharged.

③ Power supply:

The power supply is connected from the nearby power grid to each power consumption area of ​​this project, and the power consumption of the project is expected to be 100,000 kW·h/a.

④ Energy:

The energy used in the operation of the project is mainly electricity, biomass molding fuel and other energy sources, and the project does not use coal as fuel.
