A 4 T/H soil amendment pellet production line designed by RICHI Machinery has transformed agricultural practices in Kenya’s Rift Valley region. The plant converts volcanic rock powder, composted crop residues, and beneficial microorganisms into balanced soil conditioning pellets.
The innovative formulation includes controlled-release mycorrhizal fungi encapsulated within the pellet matrix. RICHI’s gentle pelleting technology preserves microbial viability while achieving optimal disintegration rates for field application.
Supported by UN agricultural development funds, the project serves 5,000 smallholder farms with sustainable alternatives to chemical fertilizers. The modular plant design allows for future capacity doubling as demand grows across East Africa. This initiative exemplifies RICHI’s commitment to technologically appropriate solutions for developing economies.
