overview
As a North African country, Tunisia’s energy demand and environmental protection policies have an important impact on the biomass pellet market. As the global demand for renewable energy increases, biomass pellets, as a clean and efficient form of energy, continue to grow in market demand. The Tunisian government’s support policy for renewable energy, such as encouraging the development of biomass energy, will provide a good external environment for the biomass pellet market.
In addition, the Tunisian government’s support policy for renewable energy is an important factor in promoting the development of the biomass pellet industry. The government has introduced a series of policies to encourage the development of biomass energy, which provide strong support for the production and use of biomass pellets. In addition, Tunisia’s cooperation with the European Union and other regions may also provide more opportunities for the export of biomass pellets.
Therefore, based on global energy demand and Tunisia’s domestic policy orientation, the project client, a Tunisian renewable resource utilization company, invested $380,000 to establish a biomass pellet production line project. The biomass pellet making line in Tunisia project uses the customer’s existing factory buildings and purchases related production facilities, and builds supporting environmental protection, power supply and distribution, roads and other ancillary projects. The project produces 30,000 t/a of biomass fuel pellets annually.
According to production needs, the project has a production quota of 8 people, a work system of 300 working days per year, and 16 hours of operation per day.

Project process design
Based on the customer’s raw materials, plant structure, and investment budget, RICHI engineers designed the following process for the customer:
- Chipping: Straw, branches, wood chips, wood scraps and other raw materials with large particle sizes are conveyed to the chipper machine through a belt to be initially chipped into smaller particles. Since the raw material particles are large and the particle size of the chipped materials is also large, no dust is generated.
- Crushing: The chipped materials are transported to the crusher by a forklift for crushing.
- Granulation: The materials are transported to the straw wood pellet mill by a forklift for the production of biomass fuel pellets.
- Screening: Put the finished product into a simple sieve for screening, and screen out a very small number of unformed small particles. The finished pelletized products will no longer generate dust. The screened part is returned to production.
- Packaging: The product enters the finished product warehouse for packaging.

How does RICHI design a biomass pellet production line project?
The basic principle of RICHI’s design for this biomass pellet making line in Tunisia project is to divide the production process into several independent processes, and through reasonable coordination and cooperation between processes, the product can be seamlessly transferred between each process and finally complete the production. The basic principles of production line design include reasonable process, standardized operation, efficient equipment, personnel coordination, etc.
The steps we designed for this Tunisian biomass pellet production line are as follows:
Step 1: Determine the type of production line
Determine the appropriate type of production line according to the characteristics of the product and production needs. Common types of production lines include assembly lines, assembly lines, processing lines, etc.
Step 2: Determine the layout of the production line
Determine the appropriate layout of the pelleting line according to the type of project, the number of processes and the characteristics of production equipment. Common production line layouts include linear, U-shaped, L-shaped, etc.
Step 3: Determine the order of processes
Determine the order and coordination between each process, including the transfer method, transfer time and transfer order between processes.
Step 4: Determine process parameters and equipment requirements
Determine the process parameters and corresponding equipment requirements of each process according to the production process and requirements of the product, including the type, quantity, performance, etc. of the equipment.
Step 5: Determine staffing and training
According to the workload and requirements of the biomass pellet plant, determine the corresponding staffing and training plan to ensure that each position has the right personnel to operate and manage.
Step 6: Determine production efficiency and quality control measures
By setting production efficiency and quality indicators, determine the corresponding control measures and management methods to ensure the normal operation of the production line and the stability of product quality.
Precautions
- The design of the biomass pellet making line in Tunisia project needs to comprehensively consider the production needs, product characteristics and production equipment conditions to ensure the rationality and feasibility of the design.
- When designing the production line, it is necessary to fully understand the equipment and technical requirements required for each process in order to make appropriate arrangements and adjustments.
- The production line design should focus on human-machine collaboration and personnel training to ensure that the operators can master the relevant skills and ensure the stable operation of the production line.
- During the operation of the production line, regular maintenance and overhaul should be carried out to ensure the normal operation of the equipment and continuous production of the production line.
The design of the biomass pellet making line in Tunisia project is a complex and important task, which has an important impact on production efficiency and product quality. Through reasonable production line design, production efficiency can be improved, production costs can be reduced, and product quality and competitiveness can be improved.
Therefore, when designing the biomass pellet making plant, we should fully consider the product characteristics, production needs and equipment conditions, pay attention to the process rationalization and human-machine collaboration of the process, and ensure the smooth operation and sustainable development of the production line.
Energy issues in today’s world are one of the determining factors for social and economic development. Solving energy issues will solve the problem of driving economic development. Biomass energy, as the fourth largest energy resource, occupies an important position in renewable energy.
Compared with other biomass energy technologies, biomass pellet fuel technology is easier to achieve large-scale production and use. The convenience of using biomass pellet fuel is comparable to that of gas, fuel oil and other energy sources, which is a manifestation of low-carbon economy.
Biomass pellet fuel technology is a new technology developed in recent years. The equipment, process and technology for producing biomass pellet fuel have been successful, with sufficient raw materials, broad market prospects and large product profit margins.
