RICHI MACHINERY has begun installation of a 4 T/H beet pulp pellet production line in northern Germany, serving the livestock feed industry.
Market and Project Background
Germany produces large volumes of sugar beet, and the residual pulp is a valuable feed component. Pelletizing beet pulp improves handling, storage, and shelf life, and allows for precise inclusion in compound feeds.
The customer required a production line that could handle wet pulp, preserve nutrient integrity, and maintain consistent pellet quality.
Raw Material Characteristics
Beet pulp is high-moisture (18–22%) and fibrous. Proper drying and conditioning are critical to avoid pellet breakage and microbial growth.
Process Design and Equipment
The line includes:
- Beet pulp conveying and pre-drying
- Hammer mill for size reduction
- Rotary dryer
- MZLH pellet mill
- Cooling and screening
- Automatic packing
Moisture is reduced below 10% and density maintained above 500 kg/m³.
Installation and Timeline
Equipment delivery was completed in December 2025. Installation and electrical integration are ongoing, with trial production expected in March 2026.
Benefits for Feed Industry
The pellet line enables consistent beet pulp pellets for dairy and beef cattle, improving feed efficiency and reducing waste.
