What raw materials can be used?

This is a small wood pellet plant diagram customized by us for an Indonesian customer. The original wood chips of this customer were wood chips.

The process flow is as follows: the wood chips are fed into the crusher through a conveyor. Before that, the sawdust obtained after crushing is directly piled on the ground. Then it is transported to a conveyor by a forklift and fed into the pelletizer through the conveyor. After pelletizing, qualified pellets are obtained in the form of a conveyor-cooling belt. Then they are manually packaged by humans.

In this design, the main equipment used includes conveyors, wood hammer mills and wood pellet machines.

This is a pellet production line design with an output of 0.5-0.7 tons per hour. We designed it for a Ghanaian customer. The customer uses wet wood chips as the main raw material.

The process of this design is: the material is sent to the crusher through a conveyor, and the crushed material is sent to the dryer in batches. The dried material is piled on the ground, and then sent to the wood pelletizer by a forklift, and then enters the cooler and vibrating screen to finally obtain qualified pellets. This project also adopts manual packaging, and the qualified pellets are directly put into bags after screening.

This is also a project with an hourly output of 500-700 kg, but this design is significantly different from the above one. The raw materials of this project are various organic biomass wastes such as wood chips, sawdust, wood shavings, straw bundles, rice husks, etc.

Therefore, in this project, the straw bundles are crushed by a baler, and after crushing, they enter the sawdust making machine together with other materials. Subsequently, the crushed materials enter the dryer. After drying, all materials are conveyed horizontally and sent to a material silo by a bucket elevator, and then sent to the wood pellet machine in batches. Then they enter the cooling and screening section. In order to save costs, this project is also not equipped with a baling scale, but is baled manually.

As can be seen from this flow chart, this is a relatively simple design. This design comes from our Azerbaijan MDF pellet production line project. This project was built in an MDF processing plant. Since a lot of MDF waste was generated during the processing, the customer invested in building this small pellet production line. The pellets processed in this project will all be used as biomass boiler fuel in the plant.

The design of this solution mainly includes two systems: pelletizing system and cooling and screening system. The waste materials generated by the customerโ€™s factory include sawdust and wood blocks and chips. But the customer already has a sawdust making machine. So we only need to design all the sections after crushing for the customer.

01ย Crushing and screening:

02ย Drying:

The raw material contains a certain amount of moisture, and the raw material that meets the size requirements after crushing is dried in a drying furnace. The drying furnace uses biomass particles as fuel and is indirectly heated.

This process is carried out in a closed manner. (The project has a drying furnace for burning biomass briquettes, which is self-built under the guidance of RICHI.

The annual working time is 300 days, 8 hours a day, and the biomass briquette fuel burned by the drying furnace is 83.33kg/h per hour. The fuel adopts the biomass briquette fuel produced by the customer, and the annual consumption of biomass pelletย fuel is 200t.)

03ย Granulation:

The dried raw materials are dropped vertically on the surface of the wood pellet granulator frame plate from the feed port, and the material is continuously and evenly distributed on the surface of the inner cavity of the mold (the contact surface between the pressure roller and the mold) through the rotation of the frame plate.

The powdery material passes through the holes of the mold (evenly distributed on the inner surface of the mold) under the rolling. In this process, the material is subjected to high pressure and high temperature, which makes the powder particles form a continuously elongated cylindrical solid body.

The cylindrical solid body continues to elongate until it is cut by the cutter around the uniform mold, forming pellets of a certain size, scattered on the The pellets around the mold are concentrated to the discharge port by the pulling teeth, and the pellets fall automatically under the action of gravity. 04ย Packaging:

Environmental Engineering

01 Exhaust gas treatment:

Crushing, screening, granulating dust: The 300kg/h smallย wood pellet processing plantย project sets up a dust collection hood to collect dust in the crushing, screening, and granulating processes, and leads it to the bag filter through pipelines. After treatment, it is discharged from the 1#15m high exhaust pipe, and the gas The collection efficiency of the hood is 95%, the air volume is 2000mยณ/h, and the dust removal efficiency of the bag filter is 99%.

Exhaust gas from the drying furnace: After cooling, the flue gas from the drying furnace of the project is dedusted by a bag filter (efficiency 95%), and then discharged from a 20-meter-high chimney at high altitude.

02 Wastewater treatment

The domestic sewage of this project will be used to irrigate the surrounding woodland after being treated by the grease trap and septic tank sewage treatment facilities, and will not be discharged outside.
